Golf:
The Palmer North Course:
Often referred to as the Ryder Cup Course, is a premier parkland layout that has hosted prestigious tournaments, including the 2006 Ryder Cup, the 2016 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, and multiple European Opens. Spanning 7,350 yards, this par-72 course meanders through mature woodlands and alongside the River Liffey, presenting a blend of strategic challenges and scenic beauty. Notable holes include the formidable 16th, a nearly 600-yard par five with a double dogleg and water hazards, and the 7th, a 430-yard par four requiring precision to navigate its water-guarded green.
The Palmer South Course:
The course offers an inland links-style experience across 7,277 yards. Characterized by dramatic dune-style mounding, expansive bunkers, and water features, it challenges golfers to adapt their strategies continually. The course's standout hole, known as the 'Quarry Hole,' features a striking 60-foot man-made rock face and cascading waterfalls, demanding both accuracy and nerve. Having hosted events like the Smurfit European Open, the Palmer South Course is celebrated for its unique design and the memorable moments it has produced.
